This photograph is part of a new series that I’m developing about the visual vocabulary of the city landscape. Many of my photographs already fit in that category, but this series is a bit more specific. It’s about overlapping patterns and broad swaths of texture, turning representational scenes into slightly more abstract city landscapes. I think I am much more comfortable in using the visual vocabulary than speaking about it, so take a look and let me know what you think. Here are a couple of other examples that fit into this series and will hopefully come together into some sort of show at some point.
And on an administrative note, I’m having a small contest this month: please sign up for the mailing list to be entered in a drawing to win a free print of your choice.
